SILICA TRAINING CLASS: COMPETENT PERSON TRAINING

The Silica Exposure Rule from OSHA requires all contractors to:

  1. Have a written Silica Exposure Plan
  2. Have an assigned Competent Person

The assigned Competent Person must be able to identify a silica hazard, have the authority to implement corrective measures and have knowledge of the company’s Silica Exposure Plan.

Contractor members of the SMA Silica Compliance Program can stay after the meeting to take a test and, upon a passing grade, will receive a “Competent Person“ card to verify completion.
